Seven years ago when my husband and I got married, we got a very tiny vacuum that has done a pretty terrible job actually keeping our house clean. We used two of the constant messy offenders at our house (paper scraps and snack crumbs) for our activities.

Vacuuming the Alphabet Materials Needed: Clean View Deluxe Vacuum, paper scraps, marker I wrote simple sight words, word family words, and upper and lowercase alphabet letters. My five year old loved this. I loved how simple it was to maneuver the vacuum and how well everything was able to be sucked up... even larger scraps of paper. Our rug looked clean when we started the game but when we were done it looked AMAZING! 2. Listen and Suck Next we played a listening game inspired by our current favorite book, The Very Hungry Caterpillar by Eric Carle. Materials Needed: Clean View Deluxe Vacuum, food print outs from The Very Hungry Caterpillar, crushed up crumbs (these are super easy to find at our house!), painters tape First we taped all of the Hungry Caterpillar images to our floor and then we sprinkled crumbs on top of each paper image.

Next we turned on the vacuum and I called out the name of a food item from the story and my son had to go and vacuum the crumbs that were sitting on top of the food image. This game helped him practice his listening and following directions skills which are critical skills for kids. He used an attachment for this activity and thought it was really cool. I loved how quickly it sucked up every single last crumb! I can tell that this little activity earned me a vacuum helper for life! Using such simple, powerful, and sturdy attachments made it easy for me to delegate this cleaning job.
