Belgrade – Bosch, a leading global supplier of technology and services, ended its 2014 fiscal year with 5.000.000 TRSD (40 million euros) thus registering strong growth of 38 percent compared to the previous year. The total net sales include sales in the country as well as internal deliveries to affiliated companies.

Consolidated sales to third parties in the local market registered a strong double-digit growth, and came to 3.500.000 TRSD (28 million euros). “Serbia is an important location for Bosch, both as a market for our products and services ‘invented for life’ and also as a production base. Our increasing local manufacturing capacity and the expansion of our Automotive Aftermarket services offered from Serbia for the global market reflect this,” said Jovanka Jovanovic, general manager of Bosch in Serbia. “In 2015, we expect our business in Serbia to further grow. We also see increasing opportunities provided by strategic future businesses such as connectivity and the ICT sector in the Serbian market,” she added. As of April 2015, Bosch had increased its workforce in Serbia to around 400 associates. This figure includes associates from the company’s complete acquisitions of BSH Bosch und Siemens Hausgeräte GmbH (now BSH Hausgeräte GmbH), that was previously a joint venture.

This number is expected to further increase in 2015. Continuous investment and development in Serbia In the past three years, Bosch has continuously been investing into the local production plant in Pećinci, which started manufacturing products for the automotive aftermarket in 2013. In 2014, the investment amounted to over 9 million euros, mainly into the production of wiper systems for car manufacturers, mostly located in the EU. Along with the headquarters of the Automotive Aftermarket division in Karlsruhe, Serbia is the only location with global responsibility for product marketing, logistics planning, design and quality management services for this division. For the sixth year in a row, Bosch Serbia continues to gain further responsibilities in these areas. It is expected that the number of associates will rise to 90 by the end of 2015. Around 70 percent of the current workforce are university graduates, primarily mechanical engineers. Bosch introduces dual education in Serbia

Bosch is also investing in the education of its local associates and was the first company to introduce the system of “dual education“ in Serbia in 2014. This model from Germany combines theoretical education at a school with an apprenticeship at a Bosch plant. In partnership with GIZ (German organization for technical cooperation) and the Miljenko Verkić Neša technical high school in Pećinci, Bosch established a three-year apprenticeship program for industrial mechanics. “We see professional competence development both as a part of our strategy. The program contributes to educate young Serbian talents in this area”, said Ms Jovanovic. The program is supported by Serbian Ministry of education and will be rolled out to other technical schools in the country. Currently, Bosch is training ten apprentices at the Pecinci plant. New products launched to the Serbian market To meet the increasing demand for Bosch’s technologies and solutions, then company launched new products to the Serbian market in 2014.

The Automotive Aftermarket division introduced a series of new products in Serbia. Among them is the bulb for headlamps, Bosch Gigalight Plus 120, which increases road illumination by up to 120 percent in comparison with conventional halogen bulbs. Another example is the battery charger C1 to be launched in 2015, which is designed for charging standard and gel batteries and batteries with the most demanding operating characteristics. Bosch Power Tools will launch more than 100 new products in the Serbian market this year. Two examples are the thermo camera GTC 230 C and thermo detector GIS 1000, two professional and easy-to-use advanced devices for measuring and documenting surface temperature. A new generation of heat pumps will be introduced to the Serbian market in 2015 by the Thermotechnology division. The Bosch Compress 6000 heat pump is efficient and ecological and meets all the requests set towards advanced heating systems in the local market, such as low power consumption, quiet operation and system optimization.

In January 2015, Bosch launched the Series 8 ovens on the Serbian market, which are equipped with a unique 4D warming technology and control ring. The athlete vacuum cleaner launched in 2014 is the first cordless vacuum cleaner presented by BSH. Significant projects in the public sector Bosch security and communication products are installed in a great number of facilities in the region of Serbia, Montenegro, Macedonia and Albania, as a part of various market segments. The most significant projects in public sector are: European Integration hall in the Palace of Serbia followed by the Palace of Justice in Priština as well as the National Bank of Albania. Commitment to a socially responsible business Social responsibility is one of Bosch‘s core values. In line with its founder’s vision, Bosch also follows the approach to contribute to society in Serbia. The company continues its successful cooperation with the Municipality of Belgrade, started in 2012 and plans to equip additional ten health centres with special didactical equipment for children in 2015.

So far, Bosch has donated such equipment, which improves mental and physical ability and healthy development of children, to 13 medical care centres in Serbia in the past years. Bosch Group business outlook for 2015 The Bosch Group expects global sales to grow within an exchange rate-adjusted range of 3 to 5 percent in 2015. Speaking at the company’s recent annual press conference in Germany, the Bosch CEO Volkmar Denner said: “Our economic and technological strength in established business fields is enabling us to tap into new market segments.” Web-enabled products and internet-based services are one of the focal points of the company’s future business. “We are driving connectivity forward in all our business sectors and playing an active role in shaping it,” Denner added. In 2014, Bosch launched many new products and connected solutions, including software solutions for smart heating systems and buildings as well as for connected industry and connected mobility.
