But when it did run around the cats had a ballchasing it!! Can't say it cleaned very well however.. Finally threw it away. Battery failure and poor performance. The idea is good but having to place electronic gates at various doorways and stairways, repetitive emptying plus its... still using the red Breaks constantly then they send you a new one until you get tired of the game. The machine I was looking for People call this a robotic vacuum. It is a robotic broom; after all "Roomba" is an anagram of "A Broom". Doesn't work, ended up costing me a bunch of money trying to fix it up only to have it pick up nothing around my house.

Roomba did not charge up. Asked for a return authorization. Was offerred a $35 credit with no return authorization. A new battery costs $70, so $35 was pretty much not much. This didn't last long. Just long enough to not have a warranty. I love the idea but can't bring myself to buy another.
