The belts are great! Just as described, fit my windtunnel perfectly. What do you expect, they are belts. See and discover other items: appliance parts chicago, small vacuum cleanerProperly tensioned belts help a vacuum clean more efficiently. The Hoover Wind Tunnel V2 vacuum uses drive belts. A wide, flat belt powers the fan that provides the vacuum with suction. A skinnier belt drives the rotating brush in the head. These belts are the weakest link in an otherwise-reliable vacuum cleaner.

If the belts break, it can leave the vacuum with no suction or a brush that doesn't rotate. The belts can also stretch over time. In this case, the vacuum is still usable, but it will run inefficiently. You may also smell burnt rubber from the loose belts as they slip on their pulleys while under load. Both belts should be replaced at the same time. Lay the vacuum on the floor with the brushes in the vacuum head facing up. Remove the four screws securing the plastic cover plate surrounding the brush with a Phillips-head screwdriver. Remove the cover plate and set it aside. Pull one end of the flat belt off of the big pulley. Squeeze the belt and guide the other end of it off of the small metal pin at the back of the vacuum head. Remove the belt and discard it. Lift the brush out of the head and pull it free of the drive belt. Set the brush aside. Guide the drive belt past the two wheels that it rides between and over the pulley for the flat belt. Install the new drive belt by guiding it over the flat belt's pulley and onto its groove in the smaller wheel next to the flat belt pulley.

Squeeze the flat belt at one end and guide it over the pin at the back of the head. Guide the other end over the large pulley. Spin the belt by hand to ensure it tracks straight and true.

Otherwise, you run the risk of spending considerably more time than you’d probably like trying to get your floors half as clean. Doesn’t sound too fun, eh? Just like you’ve got to replace various belts and filters on your car every so often, so too do you have to replace various components of your vacuum cleaner — unless, of course, you want to master the art of dragging a non-working vacuum cleaner over your floor (or you don’t mind living in filth). Once you’ve made the decision to replace your Dyson belt, you’re then going to have to figure out whether you want to grab an OEM part from the manufacturer — and swallow the inflated price tags — or save some money without compromising on quality and buy a generic replacement part instead. Since it really doesn’t make sense to spend any more money than is absolutely necessary on replacement vacuum cleaner parts, we think it makes more sense to do the latter. We Cut Out the Middlemen From Our Supply Chain

Believe it or not, most brand-name manufacturers outsource the production of their replacement components to third parties. Their products are then shipped to stores that cost money to run where they’re sold to customers. This old-fashioned supply chain inflates prices as all stakeholders need to get paid. We do things differently at Crucial Vacuum, designing all of our products under the roofs of our own warehouses. We then ship our Dyson belt replacement kits and brush rollers directly to our customers via the Internet. Since we don’t have to pay any of the costs associated with traditional supply chains, we’re able to offer our products at shockingly low prices compared to our competitors. Don’t spend any more money than you need to on replacement vacuum parts!
