miele vacuum cleaner vs rainbow

4,628 posts, read 7,620,589 times I've done a search, read through several threads and found nothing that's up-to-date or specifically relevant to my question. I'm debating between a Miele and a Rainbow. Over the years, I must've spent thousands on buying cheaper vacuums that give out after two or three years. So I decided to get a vacuum that will last at least a decade (ostensibly~). I'm looking at Miele because it's supposed to be very quiet, long-lasting and great for picking up pet hair. The model I'm looking at is good for both carpet and hardwoods. Rainbow: I've used my friend's 20+ yr. old Rainbow and it's incredible. I'd never seen a vacuum clean as well. It cleaned things I didn't even know were dirty! I've been checking on eBay and found several refurbished older Rainbows within my price range. I'm just looking for opinion...could you tell me why you prefer the vacuum you have & if you would buy the same kind again, why? 10,085 posts, read 32,866,146 times

BUT -- my biggest problem is that I'm used to an upright Sebo from work... which I love for carpets, but for bare floors not so much. I think the spinning beater brush just flings little bits all over. I also had a Miele upright I loved for almost 15 years. It just didn't work on bare floors well at all. The spinning brush again. (I think the vac was designed for carpet -- when I bought it we had all carpet). I've only seen the Rainbow once, and it was a canister and in my opinion, pulling all that water around will become back breaking. The guy that was trying to sell it to me was doing it at work, where I vacuum a quarter of a mile a day. There was NO WAY I'd do that there... I'd vote for Miele.... 226 posts, read 376,977 times 448 posts, read 690,279 times Rainbow Cleaning System: Accessories & SuppliesWe'd be happy to answer any questions you may have - please give us a call: AAA Vacuum is an Authorized Miele Diamond Dealer of Miele vacuum cleaners.
