Oreck's Endurolife vacuum belt is designed and constructed to last the lifetime of the vacuum. Built to last with a Magnesium frame that is stronger than most steel. Minimal extra parts mean minimal break-downs and parts to replace. The Magnesium does not offer an integrated hose or attachments for cleaning areas other than floors. The HEPA filter bags perform well but because the Magnesium is not a sealed vacuum, the bag is not able to work up to true HEPA efficiency. This vacuum does not have a pre-motor filter. The exhaust filter is the bag that surrounds the HEPA filter bag. Power head does not adjust in height and is not well suited for deep pile carpet. Power head brush roll cannot be shut off. The Oreck Magnesium vacuum cleaner was a pleasant surprise for our product testers. While this upright vacuum may not be the best choice for a serious allergy sufferer, it certainly does offer a number of features that most anyone can appreciate.
