I was worried about quality compared to what I was used to.

I replaced a 10-year-old Kenmore vacuum cleaner, also made by Panasonic. This vacuum has very good suction on thick carpet, the tools are conveniently located on top, the on-off... I purchased this vacuum because I prefer Canister vacuums. This one works well, isn't overly loud and is easy to drag around with me when I am cleaning. Used it twice and now there is a problem, engine slows down and there is a wierd odor, like the belt is loose. My wife loves it, consequently, I love it. Over the years has had brand name uprights, they just don't last. After 3 yrs the love is still there. It is definitely not user friendly and is constructed of flimsy materials. It is extremely difficult to disconnect the arm to use some of the other tools. Have had one just like it for years. It's a good vacuum cleaner. I picked it out with my wife's ok. Grates, Heat Plates, and Angles This review will hopefully help anyone trying to decide between getting this Panasonic Plush Pro or the Panasonic MC-CL943 JETFORCE Mult-Surface Bagless Canister Vacuum Cleaner. These two vacuums are actually exactly alike, except for their nozzles, pet/air turbine attachments and color. Everything else is the same and you could interchange all attachments, if you had both canisters. After using both vacuums, I think Panasonic should consider either making a model that includes both the power nozzle of this Plush Pro and the multi-surface nozzle of the other canister; or sell the nozzles as parts for anyone who wants both nozzles.The Plush Pro nozzle excels in carpet cleaning, including plusher carpet. It’s heavy and self-propelled and is as good as an upright in vacuuming. It’s also does a great job with heavy rugs and carpeted stairs. Only, the big power nozzle makes it feel very heavy when doing stairs.

But that’s where the included air turbine attachment comes in–-it, too, does stairs really, really well and can be attached directly to the handle. The much larger, more powerful Plush Pro nozzle can handle more pet hair. (I’ll add a picture of the two nozzles side by side after the review posts.

Update: 8 months later and it still smells like plastic when I use it.I really like canister vacuums for their versitility and the small swivel front wheel combined with the two big wheels on this model make it look a little more interesting. Unfortunately, I can't give the MC-CL945 a high recommendation. Some of the issues can be easily addressed by Panasonic, so I'm hoping they will read this and make a few changes.Pros:- Bagless with a HEPA filter and a washable filter. These work well in keeping dust out of your house and out of the motor.- You'll save money over vacuums that require bags.- Emptying the canister, washing the one filter and replacing the other are all easy.- It does turn on a dime, as advertised.- Controls are all placed for maximum ease and efficiency, including retractable power cord.- Suction is good.- The unit is relatively quiet.Cons:- It does a poor job on floors without carpet. This is easily remedied by purchasing a floor brush. I used one from an old Kenmore that looks like Kenmore Canister Vacuum Bare Surface Floor Brush Part # 52682.

I don't actually know if this specific part works for the MC-CL945 but it looks the same.- I live near Sacramento and called to see where the nearest authorized service center is, in case it ever needs to be repaired while under warranty. I called the toll-free number and learned the nearest center is in San Jose, 120 miles away. Crazy.- It really smells plasticky when you run it. "Having been a life-long Electrolux family (can't get anyone to properly fix our much used "Jubilee" model), we recently bought a very wonderful and well priced new... Great vacuum for little people! Where's the pipe extension? I'm 5'4" and have to lean over to vacuum carpets and get on my knees to use the floor brush.I've used it a bunch of times over the course of the last month. It is, however very hard to push across the carpet. Out of all the Vacuums we have owed this one is by far the best. This unit is very much like my old Hoover Dimension which I liked but reached the end of its time. Vacuums have not been my favorite appliance for many reasons--cost, capability,... Good suction, easy to use. Does everything I was wanting. I have had it a year and the carpet attachment already broke (it cracked right where it connects to the hose, so it won't hold the hose).
