It’s lightweight & powerful especially with the turbo on, the cylinder & filters are very easy to empty & clean, the only problem is it’s hopeless on stairs. The hose is simply not long enough & the handle for the attachment is cumbersome. It works great iam enjoying it so much carnt put it away. Having read the review giving 1 star, i felt i should write with my own experience which was the complete opposite. I had bought the pet version of the machine two years ago. Last weekend the plastic snapped on the base of the unit. I rang the helpline and within an hour had a form via email. This was sent recorded on the saturday. I was told i would receive just the body of the machine. However today , the following thursday i have received a complete replacement with all the tools. Although i was very happy with the performance of the previous machine, a couple of times the clip holding the hose to the machine snagged and snapped. On both occasions the helpline dispatched replacements very promptly.

Vax air living upright vacuum. I purchased this in february and it is just what i required. It is very lightweight and easy to manoeuvre around the home, on first glance it does not look very powerful, but looks can be deceptive, it is a very powerful machine and picks up the dirt and dust very well, the turbo brush is excellent and the other tools are easy to attach and use and it cleans just as effectively if not better than my previous dyson. My only negative is the extremely short stretch hose on the machine which is worse than useless on stairs and places higher than about 3ft. I purchased a vax extension hose for this model from amazon for less than £15 which clips very easily onto the original hose at one end and all the tools fit on the other end. This extension hose gives almost 2 metres of extra length and really is an essential with this machine. Why this is not included when you purchase the vacuum is a mystery, but as i bought mine for half the rrp in a sale i can’t really complain.

However, if i had paid the full price i would have been very disappointed that this was not included. Overall a really good machine and i would recommend this vacuum for anyone who struggles with heavier cleaners. You can see instant result in the see through dirt container.We turned off the air vent for maximum suction power and put it to work on a small spot, 2 feet by 1 feet and already, we can see the hair and dirt it picked up that we could not see with our naked eye.We continued to work on a white five by seven feet short pile carpet and it did not disappoint. The carpet was not all that dirty to begin with (or so we think) but we can see a pile of dust and hair collecting in the vacuum cleaner after only a short time of use.It is also surprisingly quiet with the brush bar turned off. The cylinder and floor head also reclines fully letting you reach under chairs and sofas.With the suction set at high (air vent off), you will need a little elbow grease to drive this thing as it is seriously powerful.The only disadvantage compared to a canister vacuum is its reach. While the unit is able to recline flat and can reach under the furniture, it is restricted by the diameter of the cylinder.
