For the most part, my Shark Navigator functions as well as this Hoover but the Hoover has it beat in suction power (even comparing to when I first bought the Shark Navigator) and cleaning edges. This unit will overheat and then shut off . Checked for obstructions in the hoses, with both new filters, it will still overheat. This vacuum was purchased 2 1/2 months ago for the office. Last week there was a burning smell coming from the bottom of the vacuum. I purchased this vacuum about two years ago and I must say it is still working. I have 2 cats and children so I probably vacuum every other day or so and it is still running. Large garbage canister catches large particles only. Little white pre-motor filter catches most dust and gets clogged after 10 mins of use.Used for about a month. Have not experienced any clogging. First bagless experience so I am appreciating that convenience tremendously. Gotta take it to a service center to change the belt. Alrighty so,I bought this vacuum as a gift for my momma and I must say the suction is strong on this puppy!
