Do use glides or floor protectors on the bottom of furniture will prevent scratching or abrasion. Don’t use soap-based detergents or “mop-and-shine” products. The warranty on some of the Armstrong laminates for instance state that “damage resulting from extreme exposure of temperatures or relative humidity is not covered”. Applying steam to laminate wood would weaken the material over time. The top coat of the laminate, which does the great job making your floor look beautiful and attractive will be worn away and loosened by the exposure of heat. Armstrong does not recommend the use of steam mop on laminate wood floors because according to him steam generates a lot of moisture does not go together with laminate.
