Another way is to soak a cleaning rag in the hydrogen peroxide and clean the area with that. Some people say the best way, and the one that will remove the most stains, is to place paper towels over the area and sprinkle with the peroxide until they are saturated. Cover the paper towels with plastic wrap and tape them to the floor. Leave until the towels dry out and them remove them. If you have black stains from urine this is the best method. You have to be careful with this method because the peroxide will bleach out the wood so it is best to check from time to time and remove before the floors become bleached out. The bleaching is best for black stains because it will remove them.

One more way hydrogen peroxide is used is to make a solution of 5 ounces of peroxide, 1 teaspoon vinegar, 1 teaspoon of baking soda and a half teaspoon of orange dish washing liquid. Add them to a spray bottle and spray over the area. Allow to dry (it will turn to a powder) and vacuum up. Finish be making a solution of 1cup of baking soda and 6 drops of lemon essential oil. Shake them together well and then sprinkle over the area and leave over night. Vacuum it up in the morning. Bleach – Many people think this is the very best solution, but you have to be very careful because it can bleach out your floors. Just use one part bleach and 1 part water and mop the areas that have the smell. When working with hydrogen peroxide or bleach be sure to ventilate the area well, wear gloves, a mask and maybe even a ventilator while working with these strong substances.
