If you ever have to ship or move the machine, the original box and styrofoam is best. If the styrofoam is broken, wrap with bubble wrap, surround with at least 2 inches of new peanuts and place in a box that has this packing on all sides. Place in a larger box with at least 2 inches of styrofoam peanuts on all sides. Don't forget the bottom each time you place in peanuts. The machine should be packed well enough that it can be dropped from chest height in any direction and not be damaged. Tip: Photograph a new machine as you unpack it, so you will know the proper way to repackage it.Lin's Sew & Vac, Sales of Sewing Machines and Vacuum Cleaners added 7 new photos.
Thursday night club projects. Tighten the screw by hand. Release the hoop without unscrewing. Hoop the fabric and stabilizer again. All of the tension should now be distributed around the hoop and not just at the screw area. Countersink the inner hoop a bit to bring the fabric closer to the needle plate. Tap the bottom of the hoop. The fabric should be taut but not stretched. Never pull on the fabric to achieve tautness. Repeat the hooping process, if need be to get the fabric smooth and tight.Lin's Sew & Vac, Sales of Sewing Machines and Vacuum CleanersAll our Christmas Stockings over the years have been embroidered with this beautifully stitched font built-in on the Janome embroidery machines.

Bring a Fall or Christmas themed Unfinished Project. For each item brought, the bringer receives a ticket. We will have a drawing for the items after the club presentation. Be ready to gracefully give up your U. P. even if you don't get what you were hoping for in return. Trading after the drawing is allowed, if both traders agree on the trade. No fighting, snatching, grabbing nor sneaking off with something allowed! (You ...know who you are!) This is going to be fun! Thursday, September 8, 6:00 pm Tuesday, September 13, 1:30 pm Lin's Sew & Vac, Sales of Sewing Machines and Vacuum CleanersPerfect embroidery involves eight important details: 1. Quality fabric-A poor quality fabric will still look like poor quality fabric after it is embroidered. 2. Quality thread-Economizing on thread doesn't save anything in the long run. The design will be less than desired with disappointing results from that wonderful, and expensive, machine you purchased.
3. Proper design selection-Not every design is meant for every fabric. If you are set on a design, find the right fabric and visa versa. 4. Correct needle selection-Embroidery requires a needle change much more frequently. One design may have as many stitches as an entire garment. Keep a variety of needles on hand for different fabrics. Embroidery, Sharp, Universal, Denim 5. Balanced tension-Use a bobbin thread made for machine embroidery. The upper thread and the bobbin thread should lock on the underside of the project. Different fabric thickness may require some tension adjustment. Change only the top tension. Some machines come with multiple bobbin cases. Use the one supplied for embroidery. 6. Appropriate stabilizer-A structure will fail without the proper support, so will embroidery. Incorrect stabilization results in cupping, puckering, misregistration, and getting lost in the fabric. 7. Visibility of the embroidery-Color selection is important for visibility. Does the embroidery stand out or does it fade into the background?
Consider the desired result when selecting colors. 8. Proper placement-Consider the individual who will be wearing the finished garment. Place the designs where they will be attractive on that person's body. Be careful about what area will be emphasized. Use industry placement guidelines, if the item is for someone not available for testing the location. All these factors work together. Just as in a recipe, each ingredient affects the total outcome.
