Sir James Dyson lashed out at the British courts yesterday after losing an appeal over a ‘copycat’ design case he had brought against a Chinese conglomerate.Dyson, the billionaire inventor famous for his bagless vacuum, said he was ‘very surprised’ at the decision of the three appeal judges.They upheld a ruling by Mr Justice Arnold in the High Court last year that rival Vax’s Mach Zen Air had not infringed the registered design of Dyson’s DC02. Dyson, who is not seeking leave for a further appeal, said he was particularly disappointed because he had won a similar case in the French courts. ‘It is galling and mind-boggling. It is mystifying to me why the judges have

He said it is owned by Chinese company TTI, and added that its latest financial results appear to reveal it paid no corporation tax in the UK. He added: ‘We have invested in design, and in research. The one I bought came with the extra attachments (Total Home), but all you really need is the roller head and a long reach nozzle. This slim, light, cordless vacuum cleaner is easy to assemble and a joy to use. Our house is on four floors, and our normal vacuum cleaner is very heavy to lug up and down stairs,... I have given this Vax 4 stars on its convenience, as a hand held it would rate 5, as a standard vacuum cleaner a 3 (against the high suction models). Put simply what I like best about this hand held vacuum from Vax is that everything you want and need comes complete with it in the box, right down to the wall mount bracket. We've had a dyson vacuum (animal) for years and it still does an excellent job so I haven't been able to justify another vacuum but this lightweight cordless vacuum makes an...
