The dang thing cost an arm and a leg, so was very disappointed that it was giving me problems. I was thinking about just going to Walmart and buy a Shark or just a so-so Vacuum I could use for a couple of years, toss it and buy another. I asked my daughter and she told me if hers stopped working she would buy another Dyson. This lead me to looking for a repair shop. I found AAA by accident, not far from my home. I didn't have to fight the traffic of Broadway. I took it in thinking I'd leave it until it was fixed, week or so? The owner David Myers greeted me with a smile, plugged my vacuum in, told me my problem. He had the roller and the belt in stock, repaired in in a flash and I was on my way with a like new vacuum. I am pretty sure my vacuum works better, and is cleaner, now that I got it back from them than when I bought it. Affordable, fast repair time, and amzingly sweet people! I doubt I will have any more problems with my vacuum but if I do, this is the place I will use! Our very old and faithful Hoover vacuum sadly gave in and stopped working after about 25 years. Our local vacuum cleaner shop would not even look at it. Do you recommend upright or canister ones? What about bagless vs bagged? We do have quite a lot of hardwood floors, so we'd need something good for that.

Shark vacuum problems affect how well the vacuum operates, including preventing it from picking up dirt and debris properly and potentially causing the machine to release already-contained dirt into the air. Order replacement parts through Shark by calling its toll-free number when necessary to fix some issues. Replace the nickel-cadmium or nickel-metal hydride battery pack if the batteries will not recharge or if the vacuum will only run for a few minutes after being recharged. These batteries need to be replaced eventually. Purchase the batteries directly from Shark by calling 800-798-7398. Charge the battery if the cordless vacuum will not turn on or operate properly. Wipe the contacts with a dry cloth between the battery and charging base before charging to remove dirt that could affect the battery charging correctly. Pull out debris from around the agitator if the motorized brush will not work. Cut strings or hair with a pair of scissors if it's wrapped around the agitator.

Empty the dust cup container if the vacuum will not pick up, the suction is weak or dust starts to escape from the vacuum. Also, remove the dust cup filter and check for objects in it. Rinse it under water to remove dirt and dust. Allow it to dry thoroughly before placing it back in the vacuum. If the vacuum still does not work properly, order a replacement filter from Shark.
