Replacement vaccum cleaner – no regrets. I purchased this vacuum cleaner after my previous machine gave up working. First impressions after 1 month are good and although quite heavy, it makes a nice change to have a vacuum cleaner that doesn’t have that ‘plasticky’ look and feel, which is usually the case in this price range. The tubes and hose also have a feel of quality, which from past experience are normally only found on higher value appliances. Suction is very good and the length of the tube/hose is just right for both me and my wife, however if some of you taller (blessed) people find it’s a little short, this can easily be extended using the telescopic feature. Comes complete with a floor tool for carpets/hard floors, an upholstery brush and a crevice tool. These are all made from plastic, although again seem very resilient and well constructed – should last a long time. Once assembled and plugged in, the on/off button is situated on the handle, as are the settings for ‘carpet’, ‘hard floor’ and ‘silent’ mode.

These setting buttons are slightly embedded into the handle, hence if you have large fingers, it may be difficult to use these easily, as i found. Nevertheless, not a major issue unless you have a large number of rooms with different floor coverings, where the frequent changing of settings may become an issue.
